PLATFORMMarch 09 saw a sell-out run for Janey Lawson’s new play, PLATFORM. It was directed by Charlotte Chinn for Back2back Productions. Claire Porter played the hilarious, tragic drunk, Red Blouse.

JEWEL AND EME’S STORY 15 years old and your life sucks. What can you do? Two teenaged girls strike up an intense and almost telepathic friendship escaping a background of sexual and physical abuse. Jewel and Eme is a dark yet redemptive tale where the spirit wins out. Written and produced by Jennifer Robinson of Lodestone Films. Directed by Matthew Lynch.

SUM BlueGreen’s Claire Porter co-devised and performed in SUM for Etcetera Theatre in 2008. It was invited to play at The Korean International Theatre Festival. The work explores international social and cultural prejudices and hidden racism. Writing their own script and devising the movement scenes, the cast use text in English, French, German, Italian and Greek. Directed by Ozlem Ozhabes from Turkey.

Workshops and Learning

Claire Porter in 100BlueGreen core members can prepare and deliver warm-up sessions, team building activities, body work or voice work sessions, and assist in providing workshop leaders, directorial advice and choreographic and devising sessions.

BlueGreen has created workshops specifically tailored to individual criteria, for over ten years. This includes workshops for groups, schools, special needs students, adults and professional performers.

Our range of learning opportunities includes:

Drama Workshops - students 11-16 years

Body, Voice and Gesture as preparation towards public performance. Ideal for both GCSE, A Level and community drama groups.

6 Week Course of Drama Classes
(Delivered over a half term, or with prior arrangement, over a 12 week full term period)

For students of Drama GCSE and A Level - devising short pieces to create recorded performances.

Workshops for The Actor

Focusing on body and voice, as building blocks towards character development. These workshops can be individual, or organised for small groups. 

Louise Tischler can create specific introductions to or further development sessions for students of Theatre Stage Management, Lighting and Sound, and Project and Touring Management.
On a freelance basis she is available in the above catergories.

BlueGreen - About Us

BlueGreen Productions was founded by Claire Porter in 1996.                                                                      

It is an arts organisation with a particular interest in the merger of text and physicality, and the use of mixed media. It works to further the possibilities of combined disciplines and its mission is to bring together artists of varied disciplines to explore and illuminate issues of the human condition; and to develop the artist´s work by the collaborative process.

BlueGreen creates works that are bold, innovative, challenging and visceral.

The company creates or selects projects like Wine, Chips and Funerals and The Drowning Point, and unites artists from appropriate fields to work towards the best means of communicating each project’s ideals.

Claire Porter

Claire Porter trained as a dancer at the Royal Ballet School and the Rambert Academy. She danced with London City Ballet Company at Sadlers Wells, and internationally and enjoyed a ten-year career. She was dancing David Bintley’s Sacrificed Maiden at The Royal Opera House when Mark Rylance asked her to join his company for The Tempest at The Globe Theatre.

Claire Porter

In 1996 she founded BlueGreen Productions.

In 2007 she wrote Wine, Chips and Funerals and developed the play at the Royal Court Theatre’s Play Writing Course. 

Her adaptation of The Drowning Point into a solo show was produced by BlueGreen Productions and gathered exceptional reviews at Edinburgh 2005. It was then invited by Ian Talbot, to play the Regent’s Park Studio Season, in 2006.

In 2002 She won the Edinburgh Fringe First Award for co-devising and performing in 100 with the Imaginary Body Theatre Co. Reviewers said, ‘The Charismatic Claire Porter, like a dramatic haiku.’
100 transferred to The Soho Theatre, and toured to The Toronto International Theatre Festival, Australia and Brazil.

Claire was Miss Drill in The Worst Witch for ITV, (BAFTA. USA Syndicated), and has played with The Royal Exchange Theatre, The Globe Theatre, Haymarket Theatre Royal, Paines Plough Laboratory, E.N.O. and Opera North, Stephen Pimlott’s Carmen at Earls Court and Tokyo; Sarah in Pinter’s The Lover, and the London cast of Felix Ruckert’s internationally acclaimed RING at The Place Theatre.

Her three new films are, Strauss Films’ Space Invaders, and in 2007, Jewel and Eme’s Story - Lodestone Films, and A Hat For The Camel, for Brodie Films.

In 2009 Claire will play Ede will play in the feature film, Goddess, for Brodie Films to be directed by Alejandro Sesma.
